Stretching for Pain-free Days by Master Dementia Coach

Stretching is beneficial at any age, whether you're a growing child, a hardworking adult, an athlete in your prime, middle-aged, or in your 'golden' years. It helps prevent injuries, improve balance to reduce falls, become more graceful as we age, and increase flexibility to feel better. For example, sitting too much causes the hamstrings and hip flexors to tighten, which can make walking or running difficult. Hamstring inflammation has been linked to low back pain. You don’t need more Tylenol; you need stretching.

Take Tai Chi, a gentle oriental exercise that has been around for centuries. Asian culture tends to stay active well into their 80s and 90s. They are usually healthier overall.

1.     Warm up, slow and easy does it.

2.     Feel no pain, do not force movement beyond pain.

3.     Pay attention to posture and good form; we tend to stay hunched over for hours, causing neck and back pain.

4.     Focus on the muscle being stretched.

5.     Breathe with intention to control your breathing so it is deep and regular.

6.  Practice daily, 10-15 minutes.  You will get to where you feel better and desire more gentle movement.

Stretching can help relieve arthritis, back pain, knee pain, neck pain, and more without pain relievers. Acupressure points are another interesting method to relieve pain without OTC medication. These methods have worked for centuries and can help you too. The goal of all this is less physician intervention, less pharmaceutical intervention, better sleep, and less stress on your body and mind.

Don’t let anyone tell you no…In honor of National Women’s Small Business Month

Celebrated every October, National Women’s Small Business Month recognizes the contributions of women entrepreneurs. Women play a significant role in our economy, with over 14 million women-owned businesses generating $2.7 trillion in sales in the U.S. The month raises awareness about the unique challenges women face in business and encourages support and empowerment in their economic growth.

What I tell every woman client who comes to me for coaching is, “Don’t let anyone tell you no.”

Not only do I have my own stories of “being told”, but I have witnessed the heartache of women clients being told that they were not good enough, their products would never sell, and their talents and skills weren’t up to par.

Sometimes, that might be true, but doggone it, that can all be fixed! I’ve worked with many, and I LOVE when the spark catches, and the fire ignites in these women. They are powerhouses!

I don’t know about you, but when I was told to go sit down, the exact opposite happened, and I proved them all wrong.

I am old enough to have lived through the times when women’s ideas, talents, skills, and tenacity would never get them a seat at the table. I had to fight all the way up the ladder.

Things that were said to me: (some are pretty amusing!)

Women don’t hold that position in this company. It’s only for men.  Surprise! I got the position.

We won’t pay you what the men in your position get, double, because they have families to support. Surprise! I went and found a company that paid me for the work I did. Leaving them without a top exec.

You have the work ethic of a man! (meant as a jab) Surprise Comeback! No, I have the work ethic of Debra Lee. Their jaw dropped.

I don’t shake tall women’s hands. (Short-statured district manager) Surprise! I won’t talk to you the rest of the day, you are touring our store! I know, the silent treatment.  Typical woman response. LOL!

Women don’t head up ministries. Surprise! I did.

What are you doing? You can’t be on that ladder! We don’t allow women on ladders. Surprise! I’ve been climbing ladders all my life! Have you roofed a roof, or climbed up one to trim a tree? If not, then step back.

Did you give up? (A boss who fires EVERYONE and puts his business in total chaos) I hired and he fired over 75 people in six months. It didn’t take me long to figure out I would be fired, too. Surprise response: You are not ready for someone like me, yet, as I handed him my keys.

District manager sneaks behind my back to have someone else fire me because he doesn’t like tall women. (different company than above, but still a short man) Surprise! He got fired, I was offered my job back (didn’t return, already had found a better job), and he ended up working in his mother’s flower shop! LOL!!

Don’t get me started on the sexual advances women had to endure during that time in history!

Throughout my career, people have told me no, tried to silence me, and tried to keep me from opening businesses, but I always found a workaround. I went over, under, or around the obstacle.

Women are the strongest human beings on this planet, and we get things done.  We are innovative, caring, and great problem solvers. We know how to use our strengths and work through our weaknesses to advance. We are cause generators; we lift others with us. We are creative and inspiring. We are a force to be reckoned with.

I’m celebrating all of you this month! Happy National Women’s Small Business Month!

Video | Adultery: A Case Study of David & Bathsheba

After the fallout in the story of David & Bathsheba, we see one of the most beautiful prayer written in the Bible by David. Psalm 51 is a great example of how we can pray a prayer of repentance for any sin.

This story shows God's character, punishment, mercy, grace, and forgiveness.

Managing AI Hallucinations!

Trust but Verify: Managing AI Hallucinations in Your Work

        Ai-Dapt Academy Founder Stoni Beauchamp

AI Pulse

One of the trickiest challenges in working with AI is what we call" hallucinations." These are moments when a model gives you a confident answer that looks right on the surface but turns out to be completely made up. It could be a statistic that doesn’t exist, a citation that leads nowhere, or a summary that misses the point. The issue isn’t that the model is being intentionally deceptive. It's trained to generate fluent text to best satisfy the query, not to guarantee truth. Hallucinations most often occur when the model is asked for information it cannot reasonably access, such as private details, data locked behind paywalls, or sources it has never been trained on.

For business owners and professionals, this matters because bad information can slip into important workflows. Think about a report with fake numbers, or an email to a client that references something untrue. The good news is that hallucinations can be managed. Cross-checking facts using other models, using models that cite sources, knowing the right tool to use in the right situation, and combining AI output with your own expertise go a long way toward reducing risk.

At its best, AI is a creative partner, not a flawless source of truth. The key is to treat its responses as a draft, not a final word. Build the habit of asking, “How do I know this is correct?” and put simple guardrails in place. That way, you get the benefits of speed and creativity without being tripped up by errors.

Video | Why Women Don't Trust the Church with Divorce | Part One - The Church Language

The Church Language oftentimes emphasized female submission and too little emphasis on the husband’s duty to lead his wife protectively. Who wouldn’t submit to a husband who treated you like a princess?? But many times, things can go dark and dangerous in a marriage. Explore with me some church language that is prevalent in many churches today.

How Important is Movement? from a Master Dementia Coach

As we age, we sometimes become stiffer in some joints and muscles. Is this a sign to stop moving? NO!! It is a sign you need to move more. With less use, muscles and tendons start to shorten and become less flexible. This is a signal that you must plan to become more flexible and teach those muscles and joints they have more life to live. As we lose flexibility, we become more prone to falls and fractures. Every fall is an invitation to a head injury or worse, a fracture.

It's unclear whether a femur (hip bone) breaks spontaneously and causes a fall, or if a fall leads to the femur breaking—all scenarios typically require surgery. Going to surgery is never to be considered lightly for any reason. If we can remain active by slowly increasing the length and duration of physical activity, our bodies will reward us with many more years of independence.

Walking or chair yoga can be very helpful as these are low-impact and do not risk a fall, unless you are normally unsteady. There are many free or low-cost exercise routines anyone can do at home with very little equipment required. Many SMART TVs have exercise programs from streaming sources.

Even without electronics, you can write out a simple routine to keep you active; you must be disciplined enough to do it daily. For example, 10 minutes of marching in place, 10 minutes of torso twists, and 10 minutes of bending to touch your knees or toes if you are limber enough.

Remember, staying active is essential for sustaining our independence.

Reordering our Priorities

I don’t know about you, but if we don’t cry for what makes Jesus cry, what kind of Christians are we? The injustices happening around the world should make us cry and anger us; the kind of ‘Jesus’ ire’ when he turned over the temple tables.

The book of Amos was written to the northern tribes of Israel as a warning; a warning of destruction if they refused to change. You see, they thought that they were doing all the right things. But they had neglected the true heart of loving and worshiping God.

God wanted to address what they weren’t doing. They were failing to take care of the poor and needy. They turned their eyes against injustices. Many had turned to idols for help and prayer.

God reminded them that it was just as important to be righteous inwardly as well as outwardly. We cannot say that we love God and others when we fail to help people who are within our power to help. We need to stand up for those who are suffering and who are unable to help themselves.

James 1:27 tells us, religion includes helping orphans, widows, and those who are in distress. James goes on to write that faith without works is dead faith. (James 2:26)

Take some time to think about your own life. How much time do you prioritize your own spirituality versus serving others? How can you serve your church, your neighborhood, and your school to help those in need?

All of these are ways that our faith becomes COMPLETE in Christ as we follow Him.

We shouldn’t worry about or weigh against whether someone is worthy to be helped or not. I hear this all the time. It’s none of your concern if God has called you; put it on your heart to help someone, do it. He will handle the rest.

Things are only going to get worse. How do I know? The book of Revelation describes what’s going to happen. More people will be homeless and hungry. There will be more refugees. There will be more sick people. So, let’s reorder our priorities and complete our faith in Christ by serving others in the ways that we can.

In blessing others, you will be blessed.
